Madelen hand makes organic textile art. She works with volume and different customized fabrics. She is inspired by macro perspective of human features, it be veins or layers of fat or wrinkles skin, she interprets these features into beautiful wall pieces, sculptures and clothes. This is a recent inverted drawing Børge just finished, it´s in the same series as "Arctic Fauna" from a while ago. The original drawing is 60x80cm and made with charcoal and oil based pencils. Then we photographed it, inverted and retouched it in Photoshop getting it ready for print as a high quality art print. A lot of our drawn prints are made using this technique.
Most of my graphic art is Screen Printed, these are hand pulled signed and numbered. I also reproduce work as Riso Prints in limited editions. These are printed on an old machine and each print may vary slightly from the online presentation. Some graphic art is also letterpress print. My drawn art is reproduced as high quality digital prints on Hahnemühle 270g paper. Most of these are in larger editions and they are color correct and will not fade. Some are also open editions. That means there are no specific number sold and they are not numbered.
Børge also does commissioned work through his agent. Over the last 15 years he has worked with a lot of different clients, big and small. Check out his portfolio of more commercial work at ByHands homepage if you are interested.
This is a detail of a 10 meter tall wall decoration. Part of an office decoration project for Spaces in Oslo. Contact the friendly people at ByHands for any requests.
