About

My name is Børge Bredenbekk (Born 1975) I grew up in Stavanger with an early interest for drawing and art. Most of my childhood was spent drawing and at the age of 18 I began studying for a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in England from 1993 to 1997. Following my graduation I started working with design and illustration in Switzerland and New York. I then worked 10 years from Oslo in collaboration with my former collective Brenneriveien together with other aspiring artists such as Shallowtree and Danny Larsen. At the same time I was part of Norways first illustration agency ByHands, working along side artists such as The MVM,  Bendik Kaltenborn and Esra RoiseOver the years I have gradually moved into art and now I am more or less a full time artist working from our family home in Fredrikstad. My work combines different technical skills and a keen eye for storytelling, considered composition and bold visuals. My work is divided in two styles and embraces craft both in subject and form, striving for timeless style and subject matter. My drawings are pencil and charcoal based on a duality of dark and beautiful, and my graphic work is inspired by early last century aesthetic and social realism. Thematically most my work express a passion for manual labor and nature.

I am a member of Norske Billedkunstnere and Tegneforbundet.
